How to Import Trades via CSV

Import your trade history from other platforms or from a backup

You can import your data from a CSV file using the iPhone app. The file must match Crypto Pro’s format provided below.

Import CSV File

You can directly import a .csv file to Crypto Pro if you have a backup or a compatible file.

  1. Launch the Crypto Pro app
  2. Go to the portfolio you’d like to import trades to
  3. Tap on the ‘+’ in the top right corner
  4. Tap on ‘CSV Import’
  5. Find and select on the .csv file

Your portfolio should immediately reflect the new imported trades. If there are any errors, make sure the file format is identical to the template.

Download Template

If you don’t have a compatible file, you’ll need to download Crypto Pro’s template, edit the .csv file, then import it to the app.

  1. Click here to view the template on Google Sheets
  2. Click on File > Download > Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet)
  3. Edit the file and save it as .csv
  4. Import it to Crypto Pro using your iPhone

Note: Some programs like Excel may change the layout or file format and prevent a successful import.

Understand Template

Here’s a brief description of all the fields:

Date:Contains date and time of transaction.
Type:This can be Balance, Buy, Sell, Deposit, or Withdrawal.
Buy Amount:Amount of currency bought or received in a transaction.
Currency:Ticker symbol for the currency bought or received.
Sell Amount:Amount of currency sold or sent in a transaction.
Currency:Ticker symbol for the currency sold or sent.
Fee Amount (Optional):Amount of fee paid. This will be deducted from your balance.
Currency (Optional):Ticker symbol for the fee currency.
Exchange (Optional):Name of the exchange used to make the transaction.
Comment (Optional):This will appear as ‘Notes’ in the app.
Deduct (Optional):Deducts Sell Amount from portfolio balances. (Yes or No).

Date:

Date format must exactly match the following: MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS (e.g. 12/31/2017 04:20:00)

Type:

Balance: This type of transaction does not track costs nor contribute to the total gain/loss of a portfolio. It’s a simple way to track the value of an asset.
-Only ‘Buy Amount’ and ‘Currency’ are required for this type.

Buy/Sell: Used for trades. ‘Buy Amount’ is always the amount received in an exchange. ‘Sell Amount’ is always the amount sent in an exchange.

Deposit/Withdrawal: Deposits and Withdrawals do not increase or reduce portfolio costs.

Deduct:

Whether or not to deducts ‘Sell Amount’ from your portfolio balance for that asset. This can be Yes, No, or left empty. An empty field will assume a Yes.

In order to successfully import all your trades, the file headers must match the ones in the template, and entries must meet all the requirements above.
